ESCRIP Support Your Parent Organization - help us help our children! Revenue from eScrip and Schoolpop enables the DSPA to fund school events and programs for our students. Volunteering

A high level of family participation in School activities is a hallmark of our community and there is an expectation that parents volunteer to support school programs. Each family of students in grades K – 8 is asked to provide a minimum of 60 hours each year – 30 hours for the Dickens House fundraiser and 30 hours to support other school activities including the Day School Parents’ Association. Families with students in Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten are expected to contribute only 30 hours – 15 for Dickens House and 15 for other school activities.

Dickens House

Dickens House, the School’s primary community fundraiser, is comprised of a Design Tour (September) and Holiday Boutique (October/November). The success of this event relies on the talents and many hours volunteer hours contributed by our parents. The schedule below will allow you to view the various jobs and sign up for shifts to fulfill your volunteer requirement. How to Sign Up For Committees and Events

1. In dialog box below, log in with your email address and password (the same email address and password used for Parent/Teacher conference sign-ups)

2. Review the volunteer positions and select an event or committee.

3. Click on one of the open volunteer positions listed.

4. You will be prompted to select your name from a pull-down menu of all parent names. You can email Volunteer Coordinators Karen Odden at karenodden@mac.comand Kathy Savarese at kmsavarese@yahoo.com if you have any questions about volunteering or have a particular interest and want to reserve a spot for a specific event.

5. The event or committee chair will be in touch with you several weeks before the event to confirm your participation and plan the event. If you have ideas or preferences to share before that time, feel free to contact the chair directly.

6. Repeat for as many events and committees as you would like!
